LOCKYER AVE RESURFACING & UPGRADE

PROJECT OVERVIEW

City of Albany engaged WCP Civil to upgrade the existing Lockyer Ave and resurface with asphalt as well as civil improvements throughout. The project had to be undertaken wholly as nightworks with restrictions on working hours due to the high vehicle and pedestrian traffic volumes with multiple businesses open late.

Given the proximity of works to local businesses, WCP has to liaise carefully throughout the works to ensure that access was still achievable and that minimal disruption was caused.

SCOPE OF WORK

  • Prepare and implement throughout construction all required management plans including site, dust, noise and vibration, traffic, quality, emergency and safety management.
  • Demolition of existing kerb, signs, pavement, driveways/paths
  • New subbase and basecourse preparation
  • New drainage structures including soakwells, RCP and connection to existing stormwater drainage
  • Kerbing, brick paving and concrete ramps and paths
  • Three asphalt mixes as well as primerseal
  • Temporary linemarking and signage works plus spotting for MRWA work
  • Traffic control for duration of works
